Sticky

Some kids are born to be leaders.

Just read about a smart kid in Mexico who was so desperate to stay out of school that he glued himself to his bed!!

Apparently, his mum found him watching TV with his hand glued to bed and tried for 2 hours to free him. In the end, she had to call in help and the paramedics managed to free the resourceful kid in time for class.

So practical, right? Sure beats having to sniff onions to feign the sniffles.

Chocolate Btes

Just watched Atonement this afternoon.

A really pretty movie with good camerawork- the Dunkirk scene was exceptional.

Most significantly, James McAvoy turns out to be really hot hot hot (in stark contrast to his leading lady...whom I thought was pretty unsexy despite her near nakedness)!!
I can't stop replaying the scene of Robbie walking along the pebble road in his dinner suit- looking so fabulously delicious.

And who can forget the classic line in the playroom scene involving the seemingly innocent chocolate bar..."You've got to bite it!!"

Oh my....I would never look at chocolate the same way again.

Tis' the season for a new year...new beginning...new mischief

MERRY BELATED CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR, PUFFINS!!!

Hope you celebrated the new year with lots of booze and mischief.

I tried...but yet again, fell short of expectations. Oh well, at least I have the rest of the year to make up for the shortcoming (tee hee hee).

Anyhow, moving on to tradition...my resolutions for the new year.

NEW YEAR RESOLUTION #1: watch "THE" movie (I've still not forgiven you, Shirlz!!)
NEW YEAR RESOLUTION #2: Hit the gym again (haha...but so far so good, been twice this year already)
NEW YEAR RESOLUTION #3: start draft on scholarly study of the "BUBBLES" culture (I want to be nominated for a book prize too!!!)
NEW YEAR RESOLUTION #4: be less of a Bangsar B*tch
NEW YEAR RESOLUTION #5: whinge less
NEW YEAR RESOLUTION #6: be less judgmental/dismissive of locals who speak with accents (however annoying/alien/indistinguishable)
NEW YEAR RESOLUTION #7: plan a successful boozey holiday (Phuket, anyone?)
NEW YEAR RESOLUTION #8: start smelling the roses and start painting again
NEW YEAR RESOLITION #9: be a better driver (seemingly harder than expected)
NEW YEAR RESOLUTION #10: invest less money in spas and more on constructive things like books (haha...yea right)

What are yours?

Quit

Most of my friends were strangers when I met them
Familitary breeds contempt.
Well
I'm better alone that in company
So get out and stay out of my life.
I'm at the point
I'm at the point where I quit.
I've had enough
I've had it right up to here now
I'm taking a break

well
I quit
yeah
I said I quit
yeah!

With this view and that new opinion when I see them
I don't need another pain in the neck.

Well
nobody listens to losers
So when you're surrounded by fools
Who needs another
who needs another clever dick.

I've had enough
I've had it right up to here now
I'm takin a break

I quit.

I've had it right up to here now
I'm taking a break

I quit
I quit
I quit

yeah
I've had enough...

Nothing

I'll watch you crumble
Like a very old wall (ooh)
I'll see you stranded (yeah)
You took me for a fool (ooh)
I'll have my revenge (ooh, ooh yeah)
'cos i owe you nothing
Nothing at all

I owe you nothing, nothing at all
I owe you nothing, nothing
Nothing at all
Nothing at all

I'll watch you suffer
With no feelings,
No feelings at all (ooh)
And i'll see you desperate (yeah)
You won't hear my call
He who laughs last (ooh, ooh yeah)
Owes you sweet nothing
Nothing at all

I owe you nothing
Nothing at all
I owe you nothing, nothing
Nothing at all

I was yours and you were mine
But you ran around and told me lies
You got big big trouble

I owe you nothing
I owe you nothing
I owe you nothing
I owe you nothing

Lust

Phhhwwwoooaaarrr....

Lust,Caution which won the top prize at the Venice Film Festival has been rated as a "Category III" film in Hong Kong- apparently for the pretty full-on sex scenes portrayed by the leading cast Tony Leung and Tang Wei.

I dunno about you...but I'm especially looking forward to seeing the movie now. Omigosh...the thought of Tony Leung...

I think I need to sit down...

MacGyver to the rescue

So which TV hero will you turn to in an emergency?

Remember the 80s and the super-sexy (back then laar) MacGyver...the dude who could practically build a house out of duct tape??

Well, he was recently voted as the favourite disaster hero
in a recent survey conducted in America.

I have to agree. No TV hero has come close since. Sorry laaa, somehow MacGyver makes the cops in NYPD Blues, the docs in ER or Grey's Anatomy or even the super-moody lawyer in The Practice seem sissy in comparison.

Shucks...I can't get the MacGuyver tune out of my head now...

dada-dada
da...daa..daa
dadada
dada...dada...
daa...

ok...I hafta stop now. Is the tune in your head too?
